Ingredients: Tapioca Starch, Moisture
Tapioca Starch is a rich starch derived from the tuberous of the cassava plant. It is an effective thickening agent that is particularly well suited to cosmetic applications. Tapioca Starch can be a satisfactory substitute for Gum Arabica.
Applications: Use as a thickening agent in cosmetic formulations and is particularly popular as a key active in talc free body powders.
Please Note: As with any manufacturing process, New Directions encourages small, lab scale manufacturing for evaluation purposes prior to full commercial manufacturing.
Precautions: While Tapioca Starch is a dry ingredient it can still harbour micro spores and mould spores can be quite common as they are ubiquitous in the air. The only 100% reliable way to know if your preservative system is working for you is to run Preservative Efficacy Testing or a Micro Count.
