Derived from palm and rapeseed.
Sodium Stearate is a vegetable derived surfactant (C16-C18 chain fatty acids from palm or coconut usually). It is supplied as a fine white powder and is often used in deodorant sticks as a gelling agent, in bar soaps or as a co-emulsifier in water-in-oil formulations (usually used at less than 1% to prevent soaping on the skin). It is best to add the powder to hot water (70-80C) with mixing to ensure the best results.
