Features: Our Mongongo oil (also called Manketti oil) is packed with nourishing nutrients that will leave your hair and skin feeling hydrated, soft, and revitalised. With its high levels of Vitamin E and Omega-6 fatty acids, Mongongo oil promotes healthy hair growth, protects against environmental damage, and soothes dry skin. Unleash the power of Mongongo oil and elevate your beauty routine to new heights!
Properties/Benefits: This oil contains Eleostearic acid, a fatty acid which reacts with the sun to produce a natural polymer which can protect the skin and hair from UV radiation. While this is exciting, the oil is unlikely to provide adequate sun protection alone and so we recommend this as an addition to, rather than a substitute for sunscreen. The oil has no SPF as such. In addition, this oil contains a hugely diverse range of antioxidants and essential minerals like calcium and magnesium making it perfect for anti-ageing and for skin recovery cosmetics. With its potent antioxidant, moisturising, and protective properties, Mongongo oil is a versatile and effective ingredient for promoting healthy hair and skin.
Fatty acid profile:
Appearance: Clear, yellow mobile liquid
Texture: Mongongo oil typically has a lightweight and non-greasy texture, which makes it easy to apply and absorb into the skin or hair.

Supplier information: Our supplier is proud to support tree planting activities every year, as part of their commitment to sustainability since their inception in 2016. They also take pride in training the farmers they work with in sustainable harvesting practices for the tree species we use and supporting them with forest management. They are particularly proud to work with women, as 95% of the people they collaborate with are women. In rural areas of Zimbabwe, where our supplier operates, women make up a significant portion of the population and are often involved in fruit and nut picking. While they may showcase women in their pictures, it is not a deliberate exclusion of men. In fact, they also see male involvement in activities such as transportation of fruits and nuts and operating machinery.
