Product Description
Ingredients: Cellulose Acetate [Fine for Face & Body]
Material Origin: Wood Pulp, non GMO.
Particle size: 500 mesh.
Application: This naturally derived exfoliating agent was designed as a biodegradable alternative to polyethylene beads. It provides equivalent functionality in terms of abrasiveness, hardness, cleaning efficiency and irritancy with the added bonus of being environmentally friendly.
Ingredient Manufacturing Process: Cellulose is a polysaccharide that can be extracted from wood pulp. The cellulose is then cooked up in a mixture of acetic acid (vinegar) and acetic anhydride in the presence of sulfuric acid to produce cellulose acetate. The cellulose acetate is then washed in acetone to complete the transition to fibrous tissue and that can then be moulded into our exfoliant. The manufacturing process of this material means that this ingredient is not suitable for Organic formulations.
Dose: Typically added at levels between 1-10%
Formulating Notes: This particulate is heat stable but we recommend adding at the final stage of manufacture, gently mixing it into your base either cold or as it is cooling.
Formulating Ideas: Body Scrub, Exfoliating Hand Wash.
