Description/Specification: 4% phenolic compounds, Caffeic Acid, Polysaccharides, Alkamides
The Echinacea herb (Echinacea Purpurea) also known as the purple coneflower, was originally found on the plains of North America. It is used in folk medicine as an immunity booster due, in part, to its anti-microbial properties.
Benefits: Anti-microbial, Anti-Inflammatory, Reducing the appearance of pimples and blemishes.
Use Levels: Typically herbal extracts are used in skin care at between 0.1-1% as active.
The phenolic compounds including the caffeic acid and the polysaccharides are water soluble while the alkamides (pseudoalkaloids) as a family are more likely to be oil soluble so to get the most out of this extract it may be necessary to produce both an oil and water based extract.
