Palm Derived - Not Sustainable.
This is a solid, waxy ester that is used to provide emolliency, substantivity and shine to lipsticks, hair conditioners, moisturisers and lotions. This ingredient is also used as a thickener and rheology modifier in oil-only products such as balms and solid moisturisers.
Adding this to a solid moisturiser can improve glide and after-feel as it creates a less sticky or waxy finish than most waxes.
Origin: Vegetable Feedstock.
Solubility: Soluble in alcohols, esters, mineral and vegetable oils. Dispersible in glycols but insoluble in water.
Melting Point: 55-58C
Typical Use Level: 1-20%.
Formulating Tip: Add to your oil phase and heat to melt it in with the other components.
