Common Uses:
Did you know? While most fruits have their seeds on the inside, strawberries have their seeds on the outside. The seeds are called the achenes, and they are attached to the fleshy receptacle. Strawberry plants can also produce runners, which are long, horizontal stems that grow above the ground. The runners can root and produce new plants and is how strawberries propagate. In terms of oil production, the yield of oil in strawberry seeds can vary depending on the variety of strawberry, the growing conditions, and the extraction method used. However, a typical yield of oil in strawberry seeds is around 1-2%. This means that you would need to process around 100 kg of strawberry seeds to produce 1kg - 2kg of oil.
