Texture: Tomato seed oil typically has a lightweight and non-greasy texture. It is often described as being smooth and easily absorbed by the skin. This characteristic makes it an excellent choice for cosmetic products as it can be applied without leaving a heavy or oily residue, allowing the skin to feel nourished and moisturised without feeling weighed down.
Common Uses:
Did you know? Tomatoes are technically classified as fruit, not vegetables. Botanically, tomatoes are berries, specifically categorised as "hesperidium" which is a type of berry with a tough rind and a fleshy interior containing seeds. The oil content in tomato seeds is modest, ranging from around 10% to 20% of the seed's weight. This means that a considerable amount of tomato seeds would be required to obtain a significant quantity of oil.
Suggested Storage: Store at <30°C in closed containers and protected from direct sunlight.
