Product Description
Ingredients: Sodium Acrylates Copolymer, Lecithin, Aqua (Water)
TexyGel is a versatile ingredient that combines the emulsifying functions of Lecithin with the thickening and texturising effects of Sodium Acrylates Copolymer. A synergistic combination that creates a cooling skin feel and great gliding textures. TexyGel is easy to use and suitable for hot or cold processing.
Appearance: Beige fine powder
Origin: Derived from Vegetable (Soy) and Synthetic raw materials
Chemistry: Anionic gelling agent
Use Level: 0.1 – 2.0% (>0.1% when using as a stabiliser, >0.5% when using as an emulsifier/thickener)
Recommended for: Hair care, Face and Body care, Sun care, Baby products, Make-Up
Formulating Tips: To produce an aqueous gel, sprinkle TexyGel to the water phase with stirring. To produce a gel cream or emulsion, TexyGel can be added to the water phase, oil phase or at the end of the formula (when using a co-emulsifier). Optimum pH range of use is 4.0 – 8.0.
Incompatibilities: Sensitive to electrolytes – use stabilizers like xanthan gum to help improve stability. Incompatible with Caprylhydroxamic acid and Cetrimonium Chloride. Can be used with high ethanol content, though >30% ethanol will decrease end-product viscosity.
