Traditional Use: Lavender has traditionally been known as one of the most beautiful herbs to help support and strengthen the nervous system. It has been used to help promote a restful sleep and has been known to have an uplifting effect on mood. It also acts as an anti-spasmodic in the gastrointestinal system and has been used to help alleviate flatulence, indigestion and colic.
Applied topically as an oil, lavenders anti-spasmodic action may also help alleviate muscular aches and pains associated with rheumatism and arthritis
Lavender is also commonly used in the cosmetic industry to enhance the aroma of products such as; soaps fragrances, pot pourri, face and body products.
Application: Ointments, creams, compresses, pot pourri, poultices and liniments.
