Common uses: Black Currant carrier oil is extracted from the seeds of the fruit and is a rich, fatty oil prized for its emolliency and barrier restorative properties. The oil is a good source of Linolenic acid (Omega 3) which has anti-inflammatory properties. The oil has a characteristic, carrier oil rather than fruity aroma.
Consistency: Typical and characteristic of carrier oils.
Absorption: Absorbs into skin at average speed, slight oil feeling left on skin.
Use Levels: Can be used in any proportion but is most commonly used as a speciality oil at between 0.1-10%.
Heat Stability: Medium, best added at the end during the cool down phase but will tolerate some heating.
