Hylamesh is an ingredient that takes Hyaluronic acid to the next level of performance.
This ingredient delivers a four-dimensional hyaluronic network to the skin, combining the penetration power of low molecular weight hyaluronic acid with the superior water-binding capacity of the ultra-high molecular weight polymer. This efficient moisturising delivery system is then stabilised in a cross-polymer hyaluronic gel network which protects the skin from moisture loss and pollutants.
Composition: Sodium Hyaluronate crosspolymer (Weight not available), Sodium Hyaluronate (1.5-2.2 M Da), Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate (30-100K Da), Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate (5-10K Da), Pentylene Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Aqua
Performance: Efficacy data carried out by the manufacturer shows a 16% reduction in trans-epidermal water loss was still achieved up to 8 hours after the application of a lotion containing this ingredient. By comparrison, the same base containing hyaluronic acid as the active recorded TEW levels at the same rate as a placebo lotion.
Origin: A combination of natural and semi-synthetic technology.
Dose: 1-10% as supplied.
Form: Liquid with medium to high viscosity.
Solubility: Water dispersible/ does not solubilise.
Claims: Increased skin and hair hydration and elasticity. Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Environmental protection.
Approximate Hyaluronate concentration: 1.3-2.9% as supplied.
Manufacturing Instructions: The crosspolymerisation step makes this more heat tolerant and stable than hyaluronic acid but it remains best to add this ingredient during the cool down phase and with low to medium shear. Do not homogenise.
