Ingredients: Dimethicone
Dimethicone 5 cSt features excellent water repellence, high spreadability and good heat stability as well as easy solubility in various solvents. It is perfectly suited for personal care products, where it can deliver a soft, non-greasy feel without leaving residue or buildup to formulations. Additionally, its subtle skin lubrication and essentially odourless nature make it a comfortable choice for topical applications.
Appearance: Clear, low viscosity liquid
Suitable for:
- Deodorants and anti-perspirants
- Cleansing creams
- Skin lotions and creams
- Bath oils
- Suntan products
- Nail polish
- Hair sprays
Use Level: 0.1% - 5.0%, dependent on application.
Formulation Tips:
- Add to oil phase of formulation
- May be used alone or blended with other emollients to provide a fluid base for a variety of cosmetic ingredients
- Soluble in most anhydrous alcohols, high solubility in chlorinated and aromatic solvents, poor solubility in water
