Product Description
Ingredients: Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Water
Protein is an important basic ingredient around which functional skin and hair care products can be built. Ideal for sensitive skin types; the Soya Protein is an excellent choice for protecting against oxidative stress, skin imbalance and premature ageing. It is vital in epidermal healing.
The proteins derived from Soy have a tightening effect on skin. The result that soybean protein leaves on the skin is that of a fine film that gives a silky luster and satiny finish.
As it is a plant derived, Soya Protein is a safer alternative to animal derived proteins. Thus the recommended usage can safely vary from 1% through to 10%.
Whole proteins have a lower overall capacity for binding with the skin and hair than hydrolised protein so if using this, you may notice a difference in performance between different protein types.
Heat Stability: Stable below 72C so best added during cool down.
pH for formulations: The Isoelectric point, or point at which this protein carries zero charge is pH 4-5. To get better solubility and adhesion to the skin and/or hair we recommend formulating at a more acidic range - 3.8-4.2 should be adequate. When formulating at pH above 5 the protein will become more negatively charged.
