This is an anionic emulsifier that is often used as a secondary emulsifier in a cream formulation but can also be used alone.
The ingredient is made by taking glycerin from vegetable origin and reacting it with stearic acid to form an ingredient with both oil and water loving parts. This is then blended with potassium stearate, an anionic emulsifier to form an anionic blend with a rough HLB of around 5.
Use Levels: Typically used at between 0.2-3% in a formula.
Solubility: Oil Soluble, melt into the oil phase of your product and heat to 70-85C to melt.
Material Origin: Mixed vegetable origin, often from palm.
