This ingredient mixes with water to form a jelly like consistency. Heating the water to around 75C is recommended to speed up hydration and it is recommended that the granules be added to the water whilst it is being stirred to prevent agglomeration.

Description:
This ingredient is a natural film former and has some thickening power and can be used in a wide range of water-containing products. Recommended usage levels range from 0.2-3% in a finished formulation as higher levels may become very sticky.
Benefits:
This can help adhere products to the skin where you are wanting to increase the wear characteristics of your product. Its ability to form a film is also useful in products containing sunscreen actives.
