Join us online for a fun filled day that captures the fundamentals of perfumery in our latest one-day interactive workshop!

Let’s delve into the past to find out where perfume began and break the myths of aroma.

Enlighten your senses and develop your own pheromones enhancer to empower the person you are.

A kit will be provided prior to the workshop with all ingredients and packaging that is required to create your own personal Aromas!
You will also receive a keepsake wooden essential oils box, with various essential oils and carrier oils as well as a work booklet you will complete on the day.

During the course of this workshop, you will learn about the development of a Bespoke Perfume starting with:

• A brief overview of the history of the perfume industry.
• Gain a greater understanding of the essential oils and their notes for formulating.
• Learn what solvents are and how to work with them safely.
• Understand the truth behind an aroma and how a simple scent can change thoughts.
• Gather a better understanding of how perfume really works on the skin and through olfaction.
• Understand the composition of making a natural perfume using different carriers. 
• Discuss general safety.
• Formulate a roll-on perfume, perfume balm and aromatic spray perfume.

Instructor Profile

Deby Atterby is an active Aromatherapy educator and clinical practitioner with over 40 years’ experience and continues to be active in aromatic medicine and clinical aromatherapy, as well as Western Herbal Medicine, she has trained internationally since 2001.

 

In 2008, she undertook the task of editor and publisher of the industry magazine, "Aromatherapy Today International Journal", which assists Aromatherapists with their continuing education in the aromatherapy realm, and Deby provides an in-depth profile of an Essential Oil in each volume.

 

She instigated the first Aromatica Australia conference in 2015, well attended by therapists from Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and Japan. As a result she continued running the conferences in 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023 and plans are already underway for 2025, which will be face to face conference.

 

Deby is at present recognised as an expert in Australian native essential oils and has many case studies demonstrating their efficacy and benefits in a clinical environment, educates predominantly in the use of Australian Essential oils.

 

In 2019, Deby commenced to write a book on Australian Essential Oils, which was launched at Aromatica 2021 and is being sold worldwide.

 

Deby's passion is Australian Clinical Aromatherapy, utilising Australian products where available and promoting small providers with quality products for the industry as well as teaching at colleges both locally and globally. One of her specialties is to teach others how to utilise Australian Native essential oils and integrate them into their clinical practice…”even if they haven't formally studied aromatherapy!”

Workshop booking cancellations must be made no later than 7-days prior to the scheduled date of the workshop.
